| Schedule Brainstorm | Senators listed desirable schedule features for use by the scheduling committee. Specifically mentioned
were longer breaks and advisories during the middles of days. |
| Homework Load | - Many classes hold similar schedules: large projects and tests fall simultaneously or nearly
so
- Society pressures students to take on more than is healthy. The school applies this pressure now much more than it did in the past. College is a
major factor.
- There is a large jump in workload between tenth grade and eleventh grade.
- Advisors should work with students to prevent them
from overloading their schedules.
|
| Lab Fees | The issue was charging additional money for specific school classes and programs.
- A fee may discourage people from taking certain classes or participating in certain programs
- Another option would be to eliminate all extra
fees associated with classes and programs and raise tuition across the board. Each student could take advantage of opportunities or not.
- Charging a
fee may make students appreciate what they have.
Tangent: Students do not appreciate what they have. Case in point: the couches abused and broken in Wissner Hall. This destruction may be a
result of too much unstructured time. A discussion on structured v. unstructured time may be on a future agenda. |
