MINUTES
27 November 2001
All Senators were present.
13 November minutes—ratified (9-0)
JM announced that the upper school will see The Laramie Project on Wednesday, 12 December at the Empty Space Theatre. Buses will leave Bush at
10:151 and will return at 1:40. Students must bring sack lunches.
The Senate affirmed that it will continue to meet in the lobby of Benaroya Theatre.
The agenda system implemented at the beginning of this academic year was discussed. No change was made.
There was concern that the fifteen-minute breaks scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings are too short to be used effectively.
There was also concern that advisories need more time to meet as a group. The check-in seems to be working well.
MN moved to reconsider the schedule with the purpose of extending the advisory period.
12 moved to call the pending motion to question. Passed (9-1).
The pending motion passed (9-1)
IR moved to reconsider the schedule with the purpose of adding five minutes to breaks.
Passed (7-2)
JM reported that the Senate has been allotted a budget of $1000 for the remainder of the academic year. The chair and the vice-chair must sign for
each expenditure.
