Senate minutes for march 21, 2001
Minutes ratified, approved, one abstains
- We went through possibilities for class day, coming up with entirely new ideas. Attached is a list of these suggestions.
- We checked in with the carpool committee: the rules as of yet are as follows:
the permits would work betweek the hours of 7:30 and 3:30, with each carpool receiving individually numbered spots that would get reassigned every term. Each car would get a sticker; in addition to this, one student (not the driver) would have to check in to verify the carpool. Cars would be ticketed if there was no sticker.
Questions raised were: does this include faculty? Must there be more than one licensed driver? Could we give extra permits? Draw from a lottery? Have forms that parents sign? Should every student fill out an application, and only the carpools or only the juniors and seniors be given a permit?
A formal proposal from MD [student, carpool committee chair] is expected this week.
