Senate Notes for Friday November 17, 2000
Minutes read, PS and IR abstain, all others in favor.
- FM vetoed the motion verballynot following constitution we passed on Nov. 3 regarding student participation on committees.
- We discussed the amount of time to be allowed per issue we discuss - we discussed many possibilities and stressed the need for flexibility. the first ten minutes of every senate will be open discussion, we will spend 10 minutes per issue, and 11 and I [10] will make an agenda for the next senate.
- an email was to be sent to sp [director of facilities] regarding the shelves in the commons
- There is a problem with students either coming late to or skipping forum altogether, we discussed various consequences. a motion was passed 7 to 4 with one abstaining to close the commons during forum: from 9:05 to 9:30 on Thursday mornings. however this is to be discussed further today.
