Telescope Details

This picture shows the telescope without baffles. It is constructed of aluminum and no tools are required to assemble or disassemble the 'scope. Both primary and secondary mirrors were purchased from Discovery Telescopes.

The 1 1/4-inch low profile helical focuser is made from about $4.00 worth of parts from the hardware store.

For ease of collimation the secondary mirror is mounted with a ball and socket joint from a faucet aerator. A pencil eraser is used to dampen vibrations on the secondary.

Springs are used to balance the telescope.
