Largest Cedar - Hoh Rainforest

On Wednesday we set out to explore some of the sights in Olympic National Park. Traveling north on Hwy. 101 from Kalaloch, the first place we visited was the Hoh Rainforest. Located on the western slope of the Olympic Mountains, this area receives over 200 inches of rain a year. This leaves the lands on the eastern slope of the mountains in a "Rain Shadow". Here, Carolyn stands at the base of a 500 year old Cedar tree that stands over 200 feet tall.
