Belief in doom is giving up hope, but faith means not giving up hope. Doom believers have lost one kind of faith.

Worse, they stand in the way of good works.

I suppose you have noticed the many forms in which we get the message, "Give up?" It is an important part of the social dynamic.

One can't:
  • fight city hall
  • change human nature
  • make government work
  • nothing's perfect
  • bad place is not worth saving
  • you can only save yourself...
The worst give-up message of all is the idea that the world is doomed by God.  Even if so we must go on for some unknown period.

Disaster and failure are parts of our future, but I think we can make a slight positive difference if we don't give-up. Giving-up is a form of surplus powerlessness.

I want to make a better list of reasons to give-up... especially any good reasons, just one.

I gave up on it.
