Updating Field Effects...
(BBW 5.5 or earlier)
Run the latest field effects file (ie - "FE2010.exe"). It will ask which directory to install to, choose your
main BBW directory.
This will ONLY update "official" APBA stadiums. To update homemade stadiums, you'll need to use Stadium Manager.
Stadium Manager how to....
(BBW 5.5 or earlier)
"Stadium Manager" is a third party app that lets you assign field effects manually, which is need for "homemade"
Before you start, make sure you've updated your field effects with the file that came with the current stats disk.
These update the field effects files in the BBW directory. Once you do that, we'll go ahead and assign the field effects
to the stadium that you'll be using (example: Skydome).
If this were an "official" BBW version of the stadium, there wouldn't be a need to assign field effects because they
are already setup. Manually assigning field effects is only necessary for "homemade" stadiums.
To run the program, click the STAD_MGR icon. If you get any error messages when trying to run the program, it may
ask for the file "vbrun300" or "cmdialog". These are both included with the Stadium Manager download in the
file "vbrun300.zip". There is also a readme file that has more info on these files.
Once you get the program running, at the bottom of the window scroll down to your ballpark, in this case "Skydome".
Double click it. It will list some info in the boxes above. Click the "Create fe-" button. Scroll down the
list and find the "FE-Torn.INI" file. Select that and it will assign the appropriate effects for the Skydome.
From the list of stadiums, double click on "Skydome". Double check that it has a file listed in red, next to where
it says 'Field Effects File', in blue writing. This is the field effects file that will be used. It should
go up to the year 2008. If nothing is listed, follow the above steps to assign the field effects.
Depending on your stadium, the "FE-????.INI" file will be different from the above example. You can search
your BBW directory for the correct "FE-" file to use. If you're unsure about the correct filename, let me know and I'll
point you in the right direction.
To see how everything looks in the game, play an exhibition game and select your stadium. You may need
to realign the player box indicators, scoreboard, etc. To do this, hold CTRL and then drag the specific box to your
desired location. After you get it the way you want it, under the "Options" menu, select "Save Ballpark Layout".
Everything should be set the next time you run Broadcast Blast.
