In 2003 a very large telecommunications company decided they no longer needed my expertise so now I get to do the love of
my life - quilting. I've also added an embroidery machine to the sewing room. What FUN!!! Get yourself something to drink,
sit down and browse through my site and feast your eyes. Enjoy!
2007 Quilt Camp
Below are pictures of the Sew Sisters and Batty Babes at the FFA in Covington, GA. What a lovely facility. We just did a
three day Quilt Camp. Worked and laughed hard. I'm always amazed at the talent of these ladies. Our friendships have grown
through the years because of the love and respect we have for each other.
My Hobbies
Of course quilting is my biggest interest; although, the truth be told, I spend more time at my Baby Lock Embroidery machine.
The embroidery machine was added to the sewing room in 2005. Discovered the joy of incorporating embroidery with the quilting.
Been making quilted jackets with an embroidery design on the back. This is a great way to use up all that extra fabric and
incorporate some of the exotic embroidery designs.
Started watercolor classes January 2006. This is hard but very rewarding. Paula gave me some Sumi-e paints for Christmas
so I'm incorporating them into my lessons. I'm drawn to anything Asian. Have been since my Dad brought home a silk bomber
jacket with an embroidered dragon on the back when he returned from his duty in Korea. I wish I knew where that jacket was
today.
Kathy Cuffii is my art teacher. She has a wonderful shop on Highway 212 in Covington, GA called Heartscapes. It is part
plant nursery, art studio and antique store. If you are in the area it is a must to see.
Most Admired
All my family members starting with my husband Danny. He is a very wise and patient person. He also believes in me and
makes what seems impossible easy. Next are my children - Paula my oldest daughter, Angalee who gave me three beautiful grandchildren,
Matt my oldest stepson and Mark, my youngest stepson, who keeps me young.
My friends the Sew Sisters. We are seven women so diverse we sometimes openly wonder how we became such good friends.
Right now they shall remain my mysterious friends, but as time goes by, I will feature each one shouting to the world
about their special talents.

It is time to introduce one of the extremely talented Sew Sisters. Regina Carter is a longarm quilter who lives in Jackson,
GA. She made this butterfly quilt for her Granddaughter Payton. I hope you can see the exquisite quilting she did in the
white areas. Hey, nothing but the best for those grand babies.
The quilt below is one of her own design. She added black "leading" to an original designed block called Sonja's
Windows and then added the top sun burst design to complete the look of stained glass windows. I'm very partial to this wall
hanging.
