So here it is…the biggest day of this year so far, mission trip day, all the way to Chile,
South America, the farthest place south I have ever been in my life. Wow!!!!

So, if it is so great, what is there not to be excited about, you might ask? Well for starters I HATE FLYING and the second plane we take from Atlanta is a whooping 9 hours flight to Santiago, Chile. Then there is the issue of Chris and Scott not coming with us. I feel like half of me is not here, so Ariel and I will have to carry the torch for the family this year.

But the worst of all is that I’m leaving behind my two 4-legged children, Daisy and Benji. How am I going to survive without them for 10 days? Would they miss me? Would they remember me when I come back? Would they wonder where mommy is? I guess time will tell, I’m leaving them in good hands with their 2-legged daddy! He promises me that he will take extra good care of them and talk to them daily about ME! So we’ll see, hopefully I won’t come back to find him (my husband) inside their cage and the dogs on my bed!!

So I had a nasty cold for the last 2 weeks, and today I still don’t feel all that well, but with God’s grace and help I’m sure I‘ll be fine. Before I left home I took a nice little cocktail of antibiotics, cough medicine, allergy medicine, Aleve and 2 sleeping pills, so hopefully I’ll fly thru all the technicalities without even feeling it!!

We’re at the airport and our flight is schedule to leave at 5:40pm. Everyone in our group is here anxiously waiting. Scott is already gone back to JC. I already miss him! I will write more later. Adios!

10:00 pm

We are now getting ready to leave Atlanta, on our way to Santiago, Chile. This will be a very full flight. We’re all pretty excited and we are looking forward to arriving in a short 9 hours, so by 6:00am Chile time we will be getting in. Must go for now, will write more later, adios!

PS: I already miss Scott and my puppies, not necessarily in that order, Sorry Scott.
