Meet Dr. Townsend

Thanks so much for clicking on this page, the most important things to know about me is that I am very interested in learning about you and finding out who you are, what your concerns are and what you want help with. I find it is very fulfilling helping others heal, find solutions, and reach their personal goals.

I thought you might like to know a little about my training:

I have been licensed since 1991 and have been in private practice in Knoxville since 1996. I moved to my current location in 2006.

I have a Doctorate in Counseling from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia and a Certificate in Sex Therapy from the Institute for Sexual Wholeness at the Psychological Studies Institute in Atlanta, Georgia. Additionally, I am licensed by the State of Tennessee as a Professional Counselor and as a Mental Health Provider and am Certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors and the American Board of Christian Sex Therapists.

I have experience working with a broad range of issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship and sexual issues. I am interested in helping individuals, couples and families find solutions to their problems and concerns.
