Hi!  In the event that you don't know me, and somehow just managed to wander onto this page, let me introduce myself.  My name is Jen.  That's me over there.  I often have the personality of someone who is 12 trapped in a body that's now 30, and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area; I've been in or around this area for most of my life and am now making plans to leave it, which is going to be a Very Difficult Thing to do.

This is Todd.  He's the reason I'll be moving.  I think he's really the only thing that could get me to move to Missouri, but he's worth it.  My friend Stephanie thinks he looks like Rutger Hauer.  I still don't see it; Todd is way better looking.  We met in 1996 in an online RPG game called DragonRealms.  He had been playing Gemstone previously and was (for that time) considered a high player in DR (this was back when 15th circle was considered God-like).  I was on my third day of my first RPG ever.  He offered to teach me a skill, and I took offense, thinking he was trying to cyber with me. Ahh the good ol' days!  We were an IG (in game) couple almost immediately, and an OOG (out of game) couple by June 1997...and well...I guess we're doing something right because he still likes me.

Speaking of DragonRealms (www.play.net), I'm still involved with that, though not in the same capacity as when I started.  I now have a contracted staff position, fulfilling the role of liaison for the Empath Guild.  My job involves functioning as a conduit of ideas, complaints, suggestions, and questions from the players to the development GMs, and back.  I have a fun job (except for those stress moments when things happen, but that's how life works)--I get to chat with people, and make fun things for them, and involve some creative writing with respect to the writings and events surrounding Guild personality and history.  It can be a difficult job, too, especially when you have a lot of ideas, but can't really focus on them because...well...I have to have a life, too.

So my "real" job is the one that pays the bills. and I'm fortunate in that I like that one a lot also.  I work in the Customer Service Department of LifeScan, Inc., a Johnson & Johnson company focused on the manufacture of blood glucose meters for people with diabetes (www.LifeScan.com).  I work with a great bunch of people, get paid well to write to people, and saying I work for Johnson & Johnson isn't too shabby either.  And we get great discounts at the company store.  Whee!

I also have a B.A. in English Lit., and a minor in Comparative Religious Studies, from San Jose State University.  SJSU is one of those schools that has dynamite teachers and terrible administrative red tape.  However, I'm considering continuing with taking a class or two at the CC nearest us once I move to Missouri, just because I can and have the desire.  And I've been toying with the idea of pursuing a Masters in Theology, but that's many miles down the road.

So that's me in a basic summary.  For day to day ponderings, tidbits, and stupid quizzes, you can visit my LiveJournal at http://www.livejournal.com/users/aunt_reexy/.
