This indenture made this 9th day of October 1804 between Gilbert Christian of the one part and John Cox of the other part Witnesseth that the said Christian for and in consideration of the sum of thirty dollars in hand paid hath bargained and sold & by these presents doth bargain sell & convey to said Cox a certain tract or parcel of land lying in Floyd County State of Kentucky on the left hand fork of Sandy River Containing twenty three acres more or less & bounded as follows. Beginning at a Sugar tree corner of said Coxes land thence N 43 E 20 poles to a Maple on the river bank thence down the river N 21 W 80 poles & N 10 W 38 poles, N 4 W 26 poles, N 6 E 26 poles to an Elm corner of said Coxes lower survey thence with a line of the same S 76 W 32 poles to a Lynn & Beech thence S 32 W 18 poles to a Beech & Sugar tree thence S 23 E 171 poles to the Beginning. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with every appurtenance thereunto belonging to the said John Cox & his heirs forever And the said Gilbert Christian for himself and his heirs doth hereby covenant with the said John Cox and his heirs that he the said G. Christian the said tract of land from him and his heirs or the claims of any other person whatever woll forever warrant and degend. In witness whereof the said Gilbert Christian hath hereunto set his hand & affixed his seal the date afforesaid.

I William James Mayo Clerk of the County Court aforesaid do certify that the within Deed was this day fully proved by the oaths of three of the witnesses thereto subscribed to be the act and deed of the within named Gilbert Christian and a true copy thereof is entered on Record in my office. Given under my hand this 8th day of April 1805.
