Massage is a simple, revitalizing pick-me-up that feels great and promotes health. Massage releases chronic tension and pain in muscles, improves circulation, increases flexibility in the joints, and reduces mental and physical fatigue. Additionally, massage is one of the most effective means available to combat stress.

SIX SIGNS YOU NEED A MASSAGE
  • You're lethargic. You're not lazy, you're stressed out. Massage releases the fatigue from your muscles and puts the bounce back in your step.
  • Your shoulders are up near your ears. If tension has rearranged your shoulders or made your hips so crooked your shirts or skirts don't hang straight, you need to be kneaded.
  • You've got lower back pain - not nerve pain (which is searing and unrelenting) but a deep dull ache. A professional massage therapist can coax those muscles out of spasm.
  • You're about to visit your (or your spouse's) relatives. If family gatherings send you up the wall, a massage beforehand can help you stay in your body. A massage afterwards can bring you back into your body.
  • You're an exerciser. Whether you're a marathon or a weekend athlete, a massage before or after exercise will increase your flexibility and keep you limber.
  • You need to be touched. Cats, dogs and kids are smart - they know they need their daily quota of touch. So do you.
