ECONEWS TELEVISION SERIES CONTRIBUTION OPTIONS

The thrice EMMY-nominated television series ECONEWS airs on over 100 stations throughout the United States. Produced by our non-profit, volunteer organization, Educational Communications, each show covers a different aspect of the ecological crisis.

We would appreciate your contribution to our tax-exempt, tax-deductible group. Donations ensure continued production and distribution of the environmental message on a weekly basis. During the past eleven years that ECONEWS has been airing, there has been no series underwriting by a governmental agency, private foundation, or corporation. Any regular support would be very helpful as long as we are free to provide coverage of controversial topics without restrictions,

Presently, each show must provide its own source of revenue to cover costs. The following contribution options are negotiable. Whatever you can donate is appreciated. There is no charge to appear as a guest on a show or to have your video utilized. We are simply suggesting mutual Co-sponsorship of a program to expedite and to insure creating a show without depleting our general budget, which must be available to handle overall administration and information services plus regular production and distribution. We guarantee coverage on the United States ECONEWS Network, which includes local origination, public access, governmental, school, and university cable channels and PBS stations. Each show gets about 1,000 airings due to multiple plays and reruns.

Please remember that we will be devoting at least five days to your show-the one day of taping is only -part of the time it takes to make a show. There is pre-production research, script preparation, facility and crew coordination, and post-production editing and quality control checks as well as distribution. Since we donate our time and energy to help you get your message to the public, we hope that you will contribute funds to help cover some of the costs. We also hope that you will publicize the program in your publication, sell or give away the videocassettes, and distribute tapes to your local cable outlets (for which we'll provide free air copies). Some donation options follow:.
