VOGTSMITH is Andy Vogt and Sarah Smith, two San Francisco-based artists who met in the 90's while attending art school in Pittsburgh and have been collaborating ever since. Inspired by each other's artwork, their combined sensibilities in sculpture and painting merge to create evocative, poetic, iconic sculptural pieces.

Vogtsmith's preferred material is salvaged wood. Found wherever an old timber framed house is under construction in the city, the strips of wood lath that once held up a wall are collected from the debris pile and given new life with serious reverence. A love of simplicity of form and a celebration of the beauty of the raw material can be seen and felt in all their designs. All Vogtsmith Sculptural Editions are made by Andy and Sarah in their Mission District studio. Each hand-crafted piece is unique.
