…The Manchester
is a superior companion animal. He is like a fine racehorse-trim, neat, and with
the look of perfection about him. Not only is he affectionate, responsive, and
intelligent, but he is also clean, virtually odorless, and fits well into any family situation. He is fine in an apartment and will be satisfied with a limited amount of outdoor exercise. He would still make a good ratter on the farm, but he is almost exclusively a companion animal today. The Manchester Terrier in either size is a good watchdog and a very understanding
friend. Only the finest breeders should be trusted, for this is a breed that
must not be mass produced, nor should its standards be abused.
