Here is a picture of my Patricia set with the original set up and another showing the reverse of some of the pieces:
I made the board using the "tables" function of Word Perfect to make a 6 x 6 table with cells 1.250 inches by 1.375 inches, and used the fill function (at 20% shading) to make the dark squares.
I rolled out some fimo to the desired thickness, then cut out the pieces using an existing shogi piece as a template. I then found some clip art of chess pieces and printed out what I needed. After printing it remained only to cut out each design and paste the chess art onto the fimo pieces and cover with lacquer.
If you do not have a shogi set, you can make one wooden piece from any suitable piece of wood, such as a paint stirrer, following the directions on the main page.
