I served with the "Banshees" ( B trp 2/17th ) UNTIL Fathers Day (6-21-70) When I got the million dollar wound, which sent me home. " I'M MUCH BETTER NOW " 7 years of therapy had done me wonders.   26. Junny Jackson Det 4, 4th APS. Pleiku AB, RVN. 10-71-72. Unit switched from Det 1, 1st APS to Det 4. I loaded aircraft and flew on some resupply sorties (non-aircrew member). 2 yrs later did a tour in Thailand (432 Supply Sq., Udorn RTAFB) Spent 9 yrs and 2 months in Air Force.

Bottoms and Boll, we were quite a pair. Jim was with the 637 at Pleiku and we were transfered to Tuy Hoa in Nov. 1966.

On several destroyers patrolling waters of South Vietnam,missions were varied from gunfire support to Search and Rescue.Received Combat Action Ribbon while onboard U.S.S. Berkely while attempting to rescue downed pilot near HonMe Island. Keep up the good work and I'll drop by again.

Currently writing "Vietnam Journal," almost a day to day story of my activities 30 years ago. 14 years active, 9 in reserve, now retired. Cities listed are in the lower six provinces, where I was senior engineer advisor to 21st Infantry Division and it's combat engineer battalion.

I was a semi driver hauling dozers and other equipment all over country.We were part of the 59th group 20th Eng.Brigade,mostly in III corps. Our compound was on a hill on QL 20 on the II and III corps border.3rd shop and batalion hq was at Long Ben so I took a lot of broken equipment there. XuanLoc,Din Quan,Fu Loi, Bein Hoa,were some plases I spent time in as well as the NamDo hotel in Saigon when we could get there. Welcome home everyone. Please excuse the spelling.
