Party was painted in the same time period. This painting was done in oils, which is in itself rather sensual. The photo was of Europeans celebrating a kind of 3-day festival similar to "Carnival." A kind of pagan celebration designed to bless the the earth with fertility. That is as memory serves.
Massage is another painting from the mid-seventies. It was also done in oil. The photo was taken from a book on Massage with great photos.
Love was my monument to "Love" with a kind of "Conceptual art" twist.
Ionesco was one of Theater of the Absurd writers. I drew his portrait from a magazine while I was in France in 1976, and then did the painting when I got home.
