My fourth book, The War Within You: Overcoming the Obstacles to Godly Character, was released by Moody Press in April 2001. Click on the link to read the foreword by Tony Evans. The book takes up the question, "Why is it taking me so long to overcome the sins in my life?"

The book uses the biblical analogy provided by the conquest of Canaan to show how important it is to take a militant attitude toward the unconquered sin areas of the believer's life. Just as Israel grew weary of fighting and compromised with the people of the land, so too many Christians grow tired of the spiritual struggle and settle into a comfortable accommodation of the unconquered areas of their lives.

Among its other features, the book devotes an entire chapter to the question of God's orders to exterminate or drive the Canaanites out of Palestine.
