| I enjoy studying the origins of my family. My ancestors were mostly English and Scottish folks who came to North America very early on, settling in Virginia and the Carolinas during the 1700s (some even earlier), from where they migrated into eastern Kentucky. The surnames I'm researching are MCINTOSH (naturally), BURNS, BATES, SMITH, JONES, MORRIS, SASSER, TAYLOR, COMBS, WOOLUM, TUTTLE, ABNER/ABNEY/D'AUBIGNY/ and a few others. I am going to post some Register Reports here of key branches of my family. To keep the length within reason, the reports will be of my direct line, with cousins mentioned only briefly. I will be adding to these periodically, so check back from time to time.
