My fifth book, Holman Old Testament Commentary, Vol. 3: Deuteronomy, was released in September, 2002 by Broadman & Holman Publishers.
As the title indicates, this is a commentary on the book of Deuteronomy--but with many features not found in standard commentaries. Each chapter is treated thematically while at the same time interpretive comments are provided verse by verse. This 386-page hardback is aimed at serious students, pastors, and Bible teachers. Each chapter includes a teachable introduction and conclusion as well as one major point of application. The material also includes a number of illustrations, group study questions, and quotations in each chapter, and special pages that include technical, geographic, linguistic, or theological material. The commentary retails for $19.99. As noted, this is part of a larger series on the entire Old Testament. The Holman New Testament Commentary is already complete. Both series are published by Broadman & Holman, and are worthy additions to any teacher's or pastor's library. |
