I find myself drawn to stories that convey some sense of the author's own uniqueness -- stories that honestly reflect what the writer finds intriguing and moving (as opposed to what he or she hopes the literary market will bear). As a writer, I have a penchant for the close-third person perspective, but as Fiction Editor of Gimlet Eye, I welcome all stories that are thoughtful and well-crafted, and place no limits on content, form or length.
