This fun position gives
you self-importance and authority to:
- blow your whistle at obnoxious people (besides yourself)
- stop water situations
- keep the parade paced & moving
- assist with crowd control
- Clean-up of trash on your corner.
- Leave trash bags on your corner when done (we'll pick them up later).
- After your corner looks tidy, feel free to follow behind the parade and come on down to the Pig
Pen for the after parade fun!!!! How fun would this be to have a giant entry
of UnVolunteers marching in behind the parade?! Maybe the Less-Than-Honorable
Judges will award all of you with "Best Doo Dah Team Spirit". You know we can
always bribe them!
You'll get a wonderful
little set up from Friends of Doo Dah:
- a coveted collector’s item; a 2007 Doo Dah Parade T-Shirt (please wear this while working
and the rest of your life)
- a whistle (this is where the self-importance comes in)
- badge of honor
- trash bag and gloves
- bottle of water
- our undying gratitude
- 1 ticket to the Pig Pen Party for a free heapin' hog sandwich!
Meeting & Party:
- a non-mandatory party/training, etc. al. session at Zeno's

on the 4th)

- Try the parking lot next to Mac’s or Union Station
- Arrive between 11:00
a.m. – noon
- Get your supplies & duty details
- Head to your corner
"UnVOLUNTEER DOOTIES"
- Mind the attendees; try to keep parade participants in DisOrder, no passing zone.
- Keep the crowd from coming into the streets while parade saunters by.
- Where there are Less-Than-Honorable Judges, there will be chaos...do with it what you can, then
go have a drink.
- NO FREAKIN' WATER! That means from the crowd or
the parade entrants. This means no water balloons, super soakers or garden hoses.
- Encourage the crowd to help pick up trash around your area.
- There will be a trash truck following the parade. Just
toss your bag or leave it on the corner.
- If you come across a problem you can’t or don’t want to handle, contact a police
officer on the nearest corner.
Have fun, laugh a lot,
and come to the Pig Pen after your done.
