Kids (1994)

Directed by Gus Van Zandt

YMP will not be watching this one again, so curious webfans will have to rent it for themselves for full details-it was hard enough to find when the video first came out five years ago. Since it`s little more than pornogaphy without nudity, many mainstream stores didn`t carry it.

There`s no story to speak of, only a series of vignettes of actual kids, none of whom looks old enough to drive, smoking cigarettes and other stuff, talking about partying, getting wasted, f*cking-and some of them are actually shown simulating these things. Everyone is jaded and cynical, never thinking about tomorrow.

Word spreads from one kid to another about a killer party at someone`s house where the `rents aren`t home, and just about everyone comes to the finale, where there is an even younger cohort of kids, around 10 to 12, who seem to be following in their older sibling`s footsteps. Combine Slacker and Dazed and Confused, then remove all humour and hope. Get the picture?
