How I Got into College (1989) 20th Century Fox

The other Corey is in love with a beautiful and brainy high school classmate, Lara, and chooses as his goal in life to follow her to any college she attends. However she chooses an exclusive and tony private school, and he is hard-pressed to gain admittance on his own.

Meanwhile there are a couple of hip, young professors on the staid teaching staff who seek to open up the instituition to more students. Anthony focuses on our boy Corey, while Jean finds a deserving, but disadvantaged African-American woman. Once again, the battle lines are drawn as the progressive professors attempt to promote their proteges against the snobbery of the Ivy League. What will count more-personal character or SAT scores?

Lara suffers a crisis of comfidence, but the irrepressible Corey helps her through it, and he and the other young candidate are admitted with the backing of the elderly widow who now is trustee of the school. She has long worried that it had become stuffy and irrelevant, and promotes both of the young professors for their forward-thinking attitudes.

Trivia: cameos by Curtis "Booger" Armstrong (his third appearance in a Holland project), Tom Kinney, Gary Owens, Nora Dunn, Phil Hartman and Brian Doyle-Murray. Also, Corey P had a short-lived sitcom on Fox in the early 90`s with none other than Tea Leone, now Mrs David Duchovny. He now costars on UPN`s new Love Boat.
