From Dauphin (MP 121.7), end-on junction with the Togo sub., where there is a passenger station, the single track, OCS, line heads east-southeast, in Yard Limits, past the end of Yard Limits at Miles (MP 119.3), where it turns southeast, the 6,310 ft. siding at Ochre River (MP 109.3), a detector at MP 101.9, the 3,020 ft. siding at Makinak (MP 100.8), and the 2,870 ft. siding at Laurier (MP 92.4), where it turns south, McCreary (MP 83.9), a turn south-southeast, the 6,310 ft. siding at Cutts (MP 82.9), a turn southeast, a detector at MP 74.5, the 6,360 ft. siding at Glencairn (MP 72.5), the 2,930 ft. siding at Glenella (MP 63.8), and Colby (MP 54.6), where it turns south, the 6,310 ft. siding at Plumas (MP 50.3), a turn southeast and then south again, a flat crossing with the CP Minnedosa sub. (MP 37.4), a connection with the CP Minnedosa sub. (MP 36.6), the 3,250 ft. siding at Gladstone (MP 36.5), and the 6,250 ft. siding at Golden Stream (MP 31.2).

The line turns east-southeast, past the 6,200 ft. siding at Beaver (MP 18.6), a detector at MP 15.5, the 2,870 ft. siding at Rignold (MP 9.9), the start of CTC at Delta Junction (MP 0.6), a flat crossing with the CP transcontinental main line (MP 0.4), Kearns (MP 0.0/55.7), where two tracks begin and the line trails into the north side of the River sub., coming from the west, a road bridge overhead, and the passenger station at Portage La Prairie (MP 55.3), with a brick depot and platform on the south side, and a platform between the tracks.
