Marshall to Texarkana

From the Marshall station (MP 66.5, platform on each track and brick depot in between) in the angle of the eastward Shreveport and northward Texarkana lines, where the speed limit is 30 mph, the Texas Eagle takes the Texarkana line northward, single track, CTC, past MP 65.5, where the 8,060 ft. siding ends, the east leg of the wye trails in on the east side, and there is extra track on the east side, two road bridges overhead, ponds on each side, a detector at MP 62.0, where the speed limit has risen to 65-60, a dirt track grade crossing, a grade crossing, the 7,390 ft. siding at Woodlawn (MP 59.5-58.0), where the speed limit rises to 75-70, a dirt road grade crossing, a highway alongside to the east, where the rail line is lined with trees, however deep they may be, a grade crossing, a bridge over a river, a grade crossing, signals for the flat crossing, a grade crossing, KCS Xing (MP 51.3), where the speed limit falls to 25 mph at the flat crossing with the KCS (former MKT) line from Dallas to Shreveport, a road bridge overhead at the crossing, and extra track on the east side, and the line turns east, past a grade crossing to the 8,475 ft. siding at Jefferson (MP 51.1-49.4), where the speed limit rises to 75-70 and the line turns east-northeast.

The line continues past a bridge over a stream, a grade crossing, two dirt road grade crossings, a detector at MP 46.6, where the speed limit is 70 mph, the 7,761 ft. east side siding at Payne (MP 44.3, where the speed limit is 75-70, past a grade crossing, the siding and the main separate and then come back together, to MP 42.7, where it is 70-60), a grade crossing, a dirt track grade crossing, a grade crossing, Intermediate Signals at Lodi, a bridge over a stream, the 5,012 ft. siding at Kildare (MP 38.0-36.9), where the speed limit is 50 mph and the Kildare & Linden once headed west, the 7,225 ft. siding at Bivins (MP 31.9-30.4), where the speed limit has risen to 75-70, a detector at MP 29.5, Bancker, where another short line to Linden once trailed in from the west, Atlanta (MP 24.0), where a short line to Bloomburg once headed east, the 7,401 ft. siding at Queen City (MP 21.2, where the speed limit is 70 mph, to MP 19.7, where it reverts to 75-70), a detector at MP 18.5, Lanark, and the 4,898 ft. siding at Springdale (MP 15.5, where the speed limit is 70-60, to MP 14.2, where it is 75-70 again).

The line turns northeast past Domino, South Texarkana (MP 11.4), where the speed limit is 70-60 and a spur to the KCS line at its South Texarkana heads east, a 9,283 ft. siding at Sulphur (MP 8.7-6.8), where the speed limit is 75-70 and the line turns north, and a detector at MP 5.9. With the Kerr-McGee Creosote Plant on the west side, the line turns north-northeast and crosses the KCS line at KCS Xing (MP 2.4), where the speed limit drops to 50 mph, past National Junction (MP 1.8), where 2MT, CTC, start, the Bonham Industrial Lead (MP 0.6) to extra track on the west side, UP Xing (MP 0.5), where the former Cotton Belt line crosses at grade and there are crossovers, a turn east-northeast, and South Texarkana (MP 0.4), where the Texas Northeastern crosses at grade, to the passenger station at Texarkana (MP 0.0) on the Texas-Arkansas border, where the speed limit is 30 mph, the depot is on the north side of the line and the Texarkana yard is on the south side of the line.
