From the wye with the Lakeland sub. on both sides, where an SAL main line used to arrive from the north and make a flat crossing (MP 820.5), as the Lakeland sub. continues west, the Miami line heads south-southeast from Auburndale, single track, CTC, overall speed limit 79 mph for passenger trains, 70 mph for intermodal trains and 60 mph for freight trains, but local speed restriction of 45 mph through Auburndale (to MP 820.9), past the 7,334 ft. west side siding at Auburndale (MP 820.1), a turn southeast, a speed restriction of 55 mph between MP 825.6 and MP 825.9, a speed restriction of 30 mph between MP 825.9 and MP 826.3, through Winter Haven, the 7,040 ft. west side siding at Winter Haven (MP 826.2), where the line turns south, the south-facing 1.6 mile Winter Haven Spur (MP 826.2) on the east side (which used to come through from Lake Alfred, to the north), the north-facing 5.5 mile Gordonsville Spur (MP 826.2), heading southwest on the west side, and a speed restriction of 50 mph between MP 826.3 and MP 827.1 as the line turns south-southeast again.
There is a detector at MP 829.3, a speed restriction of 65 mph between MP 835.4 and MP 836.4, the 10,222 ft. west side siding (25 mph) at West Lake Wales (MP 835.8), the south-facing 16.9 mile Frostproof Spur (MP 835.9), heading east and then south (on the former ACL line) on the east side, and a line formerly heading west as the main line turns south, Wolfolk, where the line turns south-southeast again, the 7,300 ft. west side siding (25 mph) at West Frostproof (MP 846.7), a detector at MP 847.9, a passenger speed restriction of 75 mph between MP 856.4 and MP 856.7 as the line turns south, a speed restriction of 45 mph between MP 856.7 and MP 858.8, through Avon Park, the 4,105 ft. east side siding at Avon Park (MP 858.2), the south-facing 1.2 mile Avon Park Spur on the east side, where that ex-ACL line once came alongside to the east and then made a flat crossing to the west side, and a passenger speed restriction of 70 mph between MP 858.8 and MP 862.9.
The line turns south-southeast again, past the 7,378 ft. west side siding (25 mph) at Hartt (MP 862.3), a passenger speed restriction of 75 mph between MP 862.9 and MP 866.5, Lakemont, a turn south, a detector at MP 865.4, a speed restriction of 45 mph between MP 866.5 and MP 867.5, through Sebring , and Sebring (MP 867.2), where that ex-ACL line trailed in on the west side, and the Sebring sub. (ex-ACL) departs on the west side, continuing south while the main line turns east.
