Lincoln to Ashland (NE)

The pair of overlapping wye junctions at Baird (MP 58.9), north of Lincoln Depot, connect the freight and passenger lines coming north past and through the station to a UP line (and the stub of a CB&Q branch) heading northwest and then north (in the case of the continuing UP line), and to the main CB&Q line heading northeast, Two Main Tracks, CTC, with speed limit 79-60. The line passes CP 568 (MP 56.8), where a Chicago & Northwestern line once crossed at grade and residual spurs still trail in on the south side of the line, crossovers at Havelock (MP 54.8), where there are spurs on the north side and yard tracks on the south side, CP 535 (MP 53.5), a 6,772 ft. siding at Waverly (MP 47.6), crossovers at Greenwood (MP 42.1), where the line turns north-northeast, a detector at MP 39.0, CP 364 (MP 36.4), where the speed limit drops to 50-40, and crossovers at Ashland (MP 35.3), where a line once trailed in from the northwest, and the main line splits three ways: north along the Platte River to Fremont, northeast  to Omaha (the passenger route), and southeast, along the Platte River, to Oreapolis and Pacific Junction (the main coal and freight route).
