Dillon to Lane

From the flat crossing at Dillon (MP 262.8) with the former SAL line from Hamlet to (eventually) Charleston, with a connecting track in the southwest quadrant (speed limit 35 mph), permitting access to and from Hamlet Yard for trains from and to the south, the single track, CTC, former ACL line, with speed limit 79/70/60 heads southwest, past the 7,754 ft. east side siding at Dillon (MP 262.2), the north-facing spur at Fairey (MP 266.5), MP 268.1, where speed limits fall to 60/50, Latta (MP 269.1), where full line speeds resume, South Latta (MP 269.4), where a branch once trailed in on the west side, double track resumes and the passenger speed limit on the west track falls to 70 mph, the south-facing spur at Sellers (MP 273.4), where a shortline once trailed in on the west side, South Sellers (MP 275.5), where single track starts again and full line speeds resume, a detector at MP 275.9, the dual-ended spur at Cornell (MP 276.1), and Blue Brick.

The speed limit falls to 40 mph at MP 279.0, where the main line turns abruptly west where a line from Mullins once trailed in from the east at a wye, past Pee Dee (MP 280.1), a bridge across the Peedee River, "WN" (formerly "Tower") (MP 282.8), where double track starts again and a spur from Stone Container trails in on the south side, MP 283.3, where full line speeds resume, the north-facing spur at Winona (MP 283.8), Mars Bluff, Weeks, and MP 292.2, where CTC ends, Yard Limits start, and the speed limit falls to 15 mph, and enters Florence station (MP 292.7). The Florence yard and division point is immediately adjacent to the station, on the north side of the track, where there was once a flat crossing aond connectors with an SAL line.

A line to Hartsville heads northwest where the main line turns south just west of that former flat crossing, past MP 293.0, where Yard Limits end and ABS begins, MP 293.6, where ABS ends, CTC begins, and full line speeds resume, South Florence (MP 296.3), Howe, Java (MP 300.0), where single track starts, Effingham, New Hope, MP 306.0, where double track resumes and passenger speeds on the west track fall to 70 mph, Coward (MP 309.4), MP 310.0, where single track starts again and full line speeds resume, Scranton, a detector at MP 314.4, a turn to just west of due south, MP 315.7, where the speed limit falls to 50 mph, Lake City (MP 316.1), South Lake City (MP 317.5), where double track resumes, with full line speeds on the east track, and 70 mph passenger speed limit on the west track (with freight speeds 60 mph on that track), and North Cades (MP 321.0), where single track starts again and full line speeds resume.

There is a south-facing spur at Cades (MP 322.3), MP 327.6, where double track resumes, with passenger speed limit 70 mph on the west track, the north-facing spur at Bynum (MP 329.0), MP 329.5, where the speed limit falls to 50 mph through town, Kingstree (MP 331.1), MP 331.4, where previous speeds resume, MP 331.8, where single track starts again and full line speeds resume, a detector at Salters ( MP 336.4), North Lane (MP 338.0), where double track resumes, with speed limits 40/30, and Lane (MP 341.4), where a line from Sumter trails in from the west and one from Andres used to trail in from the east.
