At St. Anthony (MP 1.4), the Minnesota Commercial Railroad connects on the south side of the ex-GN line, at the Minnesota Commercial Midway Yard, and curves to the south around the northeast side of that curved yard, with the railroad's main track crossing the ex-GN on the flat and trailing in from the north, to the yard's south end at MC Yard A (MP 0.7). The Twin Cities “Midway” Amtrak station (MP 0.5) is on the west side of a north-south leg of the Minnesota Commercial Railroad, across the main track from a yard. There is a single platform, with a depot on the west side, and a spur track for private cars on the west side, just north of the station. From the station, the line heads south-southwest, bridging over University Avenue to reach the CP (ex-Soo, ex-Milwaukee) at the wye at Merriam Park (MP 0.0).
The entire line has a speed limit of 15 mph for passenger trains and 10 mph for freight, and is entirely within Yard Limits.
