Bayview to Niagara Falls

From the crossovers and junction with the Dundas subdivision west to London, ON, at Bayview (MP 36.9), the line to Hamilton and Niagara Falls turns south, past crossovers at Hamilton Junction (MP 37.3), where the CP Hamilton subdivision trails in from the north and continues southwest. The CN double track line turns southeast, past a bridge over a river, Lake Ontario alongside to the northeast, crossovers at Hamilton Yard (MP 38.9), the eponymous yard alongside to the south, a "Railink" locomotive depot on the south side, a road bridge overhead,  crossovers at Hamilton (MP 39.3/43.7), where there is a large disused passenger station on the south side, continuing past two road bridges overhead, two grade crossings, crossovers at Birch (MP 42.3), where CTC is replaced by Occupancy Control System (OCS), similar to the US Track Warrant Control (TWC), detectors at MP 42, rail-served heavy industry on the south side, a road bridge overhead,  crossovers at Kenilworth (MP 40.6), two grade crossings, crossovers at Steel (MP 39.3), a grade crossing, a bridge over a street, crossovers at Stoney Creek (MP 37.6), yard tracks on the north side, a grade crossing, and crossovers at Millen (MP 35.7), a grade crossing, a bridge over a river and a dirt track, detectors at MP 33.8, three grade crossings, a bridge over a road, crossovers at Winona (MP 32.5), five grade crossings, Grimsby (MP 27.4, 'shack' on the south side), a road bridge overhead, MP 27, two grade crossings, an old depot on the south side, a bridge over a divided street, a grade crossing, MP 25, four grade crossings, crossovers at Beamsville (MP 23.5), five grade crossings, detectors at MP 18.9, a grade crossing, MP 18, a bridge over a road, a grade crossing, Jordan (MP 17.5), a bridge over a river, two grade crossings, a bridge over a stream well below, MP 15, a road bridge overhead, Peachland (MP 13.0), where Absolute Block Signals (ABS) join OCS, a road bridge overhead, a bridge over a road, a line heading away on the south side, two grade crossings, MP 12, St. Catharines (MP 11.8, platform on north side), a bridge over a road, a road bridge overhead, a bridge over a divided highway, a bridge over drainage and crossovers with a grade crossing between them at Merriton (MP 9.5), where the Thorold subdivision heads away south.

The line passes locks at the Welland Canal (on the St. Lawrence Seaway, bypassing the falls ), a through girder bridge over the canal, crossovers at Seaway (MP 8.1), and turns east to start the climb directly up the Niagara escarpment,, past MP 8, a bridge over a dirt road, a through truss bridge over drainage, Intermediate Signals at Iron Bridge (MP 7.7), a grade crossing, MP 6, and a through truss bridge over a road, turning southeast, past a bridge over a stream, a road bridge overhead, and a grade crossing,  and then south-southeast, past a bridge over a road, a road bridge overhead, a grade crossing, the junction at MP 2.8, where the west leg of a wye heads away east and the Stamford sub. trails in from the west and CTC resumes, crossovers at Clifton (MP 2.6), a road bridge overhead, yard tracks on the north side, and Niagara Falls (MP 0.6, brick depot on the south side), before turning east, with a road alongside to the south to cross a road below and then the border bridges (two parallel arch-support bridges) at Bridge (MP 0.0), where the line enters the USA.
