Tallahassee to Baldwin

From MP 802.9, where start, the former Georgia, Florida & Alabama line trails in from the north, and the passenger speed limit falls to 45 mph, with freight speed limit 40 mph (but overall line speeds rise to 79 mph for passenger trains, 60 mph for intermodal trains, and 50 mph for freight trains, because signals are provided east of this location), the single-track, CTC, line turns east, in the Chaires Block, past Tallahassee Yard (Dale Mabry Field), north where the GF&A and two SAL lines once trailed in from the south and the GF&A once left to the north-northwest, past a road crossing at Lipona Road (MP 801.3), MP 800.4, where speed limits fall to 35/20 and the line turns east where a connector from the GF&A once trailed in from the west, MP 799.8, where passenger speeds also fall to 20 mph, the Tallahassee passenger station, MP 799.4, where passenger speeds rise to 30 mph, and the 1,710 ft. south side siding at Tallahassee (MP 799.3). The only urban area along this portion of the route is Tallahassee, the state capital and site of a large university.

The line turns northeast, past MP 798.8, where the freight speed limit rises to 30 mph, MP 798.2, where the passenger speed limit rises to 45 mph, MP 797.8, where the freight speed limit rises to 40 mph, and MP 797.6, where the speed limits rise to 55/50, and turns southeast and then east-northeast to Perkins, and curvily east-southeast past MP 790.2, where full line speeds start, turning northeast past the 8,173 ft. north side siding at Chaires (MP 787.9), where an ACL branch once crossed, the Chaires Block ends (MP 787.2) and the Drifton Block starts, and MP 786.2, where the passenger and intermodal speed limits fall to 50 mph, and east-northeast past the 3,465 ft. north side siding at Lloyd (MP 781.9), a detector at MP 780.2, and the 8,393 ft. south side siding at Drifton (MP 772.3), where a former ACL line once crossed on the flat, the Drifton Block ends (MP 770.8) and the Greenville Block starts.

An SAL line to Monticello once turned away north as the main line turns curvily east, past the 4,282 ft. north side siding at Aucilla (MP 764.6), a bridge over a river, a detector at MP 760.0, MP 758.3, where the freight speed limit falls to 20 mph, MP 757.8, where the passenger speed limit falls to 40 mph, a flat crossing with an NS line, MP 757.1, where the speed limit rises to 50 mph, the 8,155 ft. south side siding at Greenville (MP 756.4), where the Greenville Block ends (MP 755.7) and the Madison Block starts, a bridge over a lake, and the 10,573 ft. north side siding at Madison (MP 745.6), where there is a passenger station, a shortline once crossed on the flat, the Madison Block ends (MP 744.6) and the Lee Block starts.

The line turns east-southeast (west of Madison), past MP 744.7, still within the siding, where the speed limit falls to 30 mph, MP 743.5, where the speed limit rises to 50 mph, MP 740.0, where full line speeds resume, West Farm, a detector at MP 738.5, MP 736.8 to MP 735.8, where freight speeds are 50 mph, the 8,179 ft. south side siding at Lee (MP 735.5), where the Lee Block ends (MP 734.6) and the Dickert Block starts, MP 728.8, where speed limits fall to 60/55 as the line turns south-southeast to bridge over the Suwanee River, MP 727.5, where full line speeds and the east-southeast heading resume, Falmouth, the 3,433 ft. north side siding at Dickert (MP 721.8), where the Dickert Block ends (MP 721.6) and the LOP&G Block starts, a detector at MP 719.0, MP 717.0, where the speed limit falls to 35 mph and a shortline once crossed on the flat, and the 8,394 ft. north side siding at Live Oak (MP 715.3), where two shortlines once trailed in on the south side,  a former ACL line once crossed on the flat the LOP&G Block ends (MP 713.4) and the Lake City Block starts.

The line passes MP 713.9, where full line speeds resume, Houston, MP 709.0, where the passenger speed limit falls to 70 mph, the 3,437 ft. north side siding at Wellborn (MP 704.2), where a shortline once left on the north side, MP 703.4, where the passenger speed limit rises to 75 mph, Bahia, a detector at MP 697.5, MP 695.2, where full line speeds resume as the line curves east, MP 694.4, where the passenger and intermodal speed limits fall to 50 mph, the 8,149 ft. south side siding at Lake City (MP 694.3), where there is a passenger station (nominally serving Gainesville, to the south), a former ACL branch once trailed in from the south and an NS branch cones alongside to the north, the Lake City Block ends (MP 693.5) and the Sanderson Block starts, a road crossing at Lake Jeffery Road (MP 694.0), within the siding, MP693.5, where the speed limit falls to 35 mph, MP 693.1, where the speed limit rises to 45 mph, MP 692.8, where the speed limit rises to 50 mph, a road crossing at Waldron Street (MP 692.2), a road crossing at Eloise Street (MP 691.8), a road crossing at Granger Road (MP 691.7), and a flat crossing with that NS line at Watertown (MP 691.7).

The line now starts to curve from due east to just north of due east, past MP 691.6, where full line speeds resume, a road crossing at SR 100A (MP 691.3), a road crossing at Okinawa Street (MP 690.4), Wilburn, Mt. Carrie, the 3,441 ft. south side siding at Olustee (MP 680.7), a detector at MP 673.9, Mannis Spur, the 8,139 ft. south side siding at Sanderson (MP 670.9), where the Sanderson Block ends (MP 670.2) and the McClenny Block starts, Margaretta, Glen St. Mary, the 3,502 ft. south side siding at McClenny (MP 660.8), Mattox, where a former ACL line once crossed on the flat, a holdout signal at MP 656.4, where the McClenny Block ends and the Coy Block starts, MP 653.3, where the speed limit falls to 45 mph, and Baldwin (MP 652.3), where there is a flat crossing (MP 652.5) and connectors in all four quadrants.
