The living room has a gas fireplace which is controlled by a wall switch and thermostat. The oak dining table with harp
chairs seats six people. The furnishings are Early American in maple, oak & pine woods. There are many wall hangings that
our family have personally made. The fossil stone hearth and wall was a joint family endeavor and we are proud of our handy
work. There are two very old childrens sleds hanging on a wall, one was brought home, lashed to our skis, after a trip to
Switzerland. The other sled came from, who would ever have thought, an antique shop in Beauford, South Carolina. One pair
of old wooden snow skis and bamboo poles were picked up at a thrift shop, years ago, and the other pair from one of our guest
who made the donation to the decor. The antique wooden ice skates, over the hutch, came from a flee market in Amsterdam.
A cosy enviornment has been the goal of the decorating.

A Jeffry Pine tree grows through the deck providing. The bark of this pine has an almond aroma. Granite rocks face the
front base of the house. There are huge granite boulders all around the grounds of the house. These boulders came from
Donner Summit deposited here when the glaciers melted.
The deck faces south so there is an abundance of sun. The tree provides shade if needed.
Deck table and chairs and lawn furniture enable outdoor dining with a panorama Donner Lake and mountain views.
The chair lift nestled suspended between two pine trees between the glacial boulders, at the side of the house, is from the
old Squaw Valley "Emmigrant Lift".
