Threshold
On the other side of this portal
Another life awaits,
An unkown life,
Frightening, delightful and astonishing.
Your intuition may cause you to pause,
Knowing you could die on the other side.
But then that's what doors do,
Conceal another life
Until you die to the one you're living.
So doors invite and frighten,
Telling you nothing of what they shield,
Giving no sign what waits for you.
It would be a mistake to believe you know.
A paradox then,
Asking you to trust in the unknown,
Believing you will survive or even prosper,
Transformation into a person
You don't yet know.
Only a step away
On the other side of this door!
