Being Presented Artist of the Year Award

The New Year has started out good. I trust you all had a great Christmas and Happy New Year. My family was just here for our annual oyster roast and low country boil. This year all my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were present, the weather was perfect, the food delicious, and the guitar playing made it all feel like good old times. Four-month-old Makayla, the newest addition to the family, was the star of the show, with Lakota sharing in the limelight. Now I am ready and waiting for this brand new year and what it holds. I am feeling good about 2012. It is already starting out right with this update:

An Independent Spirit is now available on Kindle, and for only for $2.99. Click here to get your copy:

An Independent Spirit

Pale as the Moon’s Kindle edition has been reduced to $2.99 as well. I’d like to thank everyone who purchased my books in 2011, both print and electronic copies. You are the BEST!

The Book of Miniature Horses, The Book of Draft Horses, and The Book of Mules are now available on Kindle, too!

I have relied on my thirty plus years of experience with horses and children, and my lifetime fascination with the history of the Outer Banks to write two historical novels for young readers: Pale as the Moon and An Independent Spirit.

In addition I have three non-fiction books published with The Lyons Press: The Book of Miniature Horses, The Book of Draft Horses, and The Book of Mules.

You can find out more about my books and writing in the pages of this website. If you have questions or comments feel free to email me, the address can be found on each page.

I am available for school writer-in-resident programs, author visits, book signings, interviews and other events. Just contact me for details.

If you have questions or suggestions my email address is on each page of the website. I'd love to hear from you.
