Clyde Pierre

It happened like this...We received a call from a family friend, (a traveling evangelist), who was living in a small 5th wheeler with his wife, two children, a cat, a large snake and a dog. He wanted to place the dog in a good home, so at the urging of our son, we went "just to look" at the dog. It was pouring down rain and the dog, who looked like a large sheep dog, was chained to a tree and huddled under a sheet of plywood leaning against the tree. Needless to say, we returned home with the large wet, shivering dog, dripping all over the back seat and throwing up a couple of times. When we took the dog, they called "Jo-Jo", to the groomer's we were surprised to see that he was a very handsome white standard poodle. The groomer was so impressed that she offered to buy him from us for $750. Of course we had to change his name to "Clyde Pierre" to match his new look and new home. He became our son's faithful companion and never slept outside again. We tried, unsuccessfully, to get his AKC registration papers. The breeder had died and her son said that all of her papers were stored in the attic and he would go through them and contact us. We never heard from another word about Clyde's papers. He was our family pet until he went to the Rainbow Bridge at the age of 15+ years. He hooked us on Standard Poodles and we will be forever grateful for the time he shared with us.
