How to protect your kids on the Internet

The ability to go anywhere  and look at anything  is one of the things that makes the Web great. If I find something offensive, I know where the X button is.

But most parents would probably agree that it's a whole different story when their kids go online.

That's why software developers have come up with a bunch of different ways for parents to prevent their kids from seeing objectionable content on the Web. Here are programs to limit your kids' access to sites that might not be appropriate for them. (or to find out where they've been)

When you can't spend time with your children as they surf the internet, here is some help.

iProtectYou takes your child's Internet access to the next level by having you designate which sites are allowed. It also lets you block instant messages with inappropriate words and restrict the time your child spends surfing the Net. (Free/Windows)
This one I use and it seems to do it's job (although over zealous!). Don't neglect to set (and remember) the password.

We-Blocker  It's very configurable. Any attempt to get around it crashes the PC. It keeps most teenagers out of objectionable sites. Configurable control. It can be overridden on a site by site basis. You can also add (or delete) words to its built in objectionable words list. (Free/Windows)

Install Spector on your PC and it will record EVERYTHING anyone does on the Internet. $69.95. About and Try it Here
Also WinSpy is a Complete Stealth Monitoring Software that has similar functions for $20.00. About and Try it Here.
