I am working on my third grant through the City of Oakland's Cultural Arts Funding Program making dolls with kids (and their families) in long term care in two local hospitals (Children's Oakland, and Kaiser Permanente).  Children's has also set aside a fund where people can make contributions to, in order to keep this program running. If interested, please contact Rebecca Rice, Child Life Specialist, at Children's at (510)428-3599. Let her know that your donation is going toward the doll making program. Or send contributions to: Children's Hospital and Research Center Oakland, ChildLife Gift Fund #128151-Lori Fischer, 747 52nd St., Oakland, CA 94609.

I would like to thank "City Stitchers", a group of City of Oakland employees that knit throughout the year, and at the end of each year sell off what they have made and donate the proceeds to a worthy charity. In November 2006 I was lucky enough to be chosen as the recipient of their donation. This has made it possible for me to continue my work with kids at Children's Hospital after my City of Oakland grant ran out.

Thank you to all the individuals that sent in donations to Children's Hospital in Oakland. These donations are helping to keep me working with the kids.

I would also like to thank "Philanthropic Ventures Foundation" for donating $500.00 towards the cost of materials for my hospital work.
