Care of your quilts and quilted items:
With proper care there's no reason anything you order from us can't last for generations.
We recommend that you always use an unscented, liquid based, color-free detergent to wash
your quilt, and refrain from using any detergent that contains a fabric softener.
Fabric softeners and the scents and dyes in regular detergents can damage the fibres
in the fabric and so should be avoided. You can wash your quilt in warm or cold water
in the washing machine on a gentle cycle.
Whatever you do, never use bleach on your quilt! This will certainly ruin the color
and will also damage the fibres in the fabric.
Dry the quilt flat somewhere out of direct sunlight. Direct UV light from the sun is
a quilt's worst enemy. This goes for displaying the quilt as well. It's okay to have
it displayed where sunlight comes in the room but take care that the item isn't sitting
directly in the sun day after day or it will eventually fade and begin to disinegrate.
Quilted Pillows:
Special care for Quilted Art Pillows:
The photograph has been printed on special fabric paper using an inkjet.
While it won' t wash away completely it will fade if immersed in water or tossed into
the washing machine. We recommend handwashing these taking great care not to immerse
the photograph. Don't wring the water out, gently press it out and then lay the pillow
somewhere to dry out of direct sunlight. After it's dry it can be fluffed up and lightly
ironed if need be. It's not recommended that the photograph come in contact with a hot iron.
