About Private Neurology

Because I have eliminated the HUGE administrative costs associated with interacting with Third-Party Payors (government, HMOs etc.), I am able to provide medical care at a very AFFORDABLE COST. Being Third-Party-Free has actually allowed me to LOWER my fees - even below current (2009) Medicare fees! My consultation fee ($100) is even lower than the Medicaid (CPT code 99244) consultation fee! This has allowed me to better serve the uninsured, the underinsured, the self-insured, self-paying patients, those with high deductible policies, and the elderly.

Also, since I am not forced to use CPT codes and ICD-9 codes (coding numbers required on claim forms) in our practice, I have been able to keep our fee structure very simple. I have no interest in "playing games" so as to "run up the bill." My goal is to provide competent, compassionate, ethical care at a price that patients can afford. I also believe in an honest day's pay for an honest day's work.

Please Note that PAYMENT IS EXPECTED AT THE TIME OF SERVICE.

We accept cash and checks. All fees posted are in U.S. Dollars.

We do not accept credit cards or debit cards.

Biomedical Ethics - End-of-Life Decisions.  If you need someone to listen to your concerns, explain terms (DNR, limitation of treatment, coma, brain death, persistent vegetative state, minimally conscious state etc.) that you may not understand, and help you work through difficult end-of-life care decisions, I offer this service to help. I understand the pain and anguish families face in making these hard decisions, and I have years of experience treating patients with neurologically devastating conditions.

House Calls - I offer house calls to established patients only, on a case by case basis. I understand it can be difficult for elderly patients and those who have severe neurologic impairments to make a trip to the doctor's office. I also understand that there are other patients who simply desire the convenience of a house call. The fee for House Calls is 1.5 x the listed fee above (i.e. $150 for a Consult, $60 for a revisit) - DUE AND PAYABLE AT THE TIME OF THE HOUSE CALL.
