How to Order Copies of The Portolan
Past Issues of The Portolan are available for purchase from the Editor.
Single copies are priced as follows, and include postage. Since May 14, 2007, the only mailing option offered by the US Postal
Service for the mailing of single or small quantity loose issues outside the USA is via "First Class Mail International" which is
transmitted by air-speed.

If multiple issues are ordered, a reduction is possible due to postal savings. Communicate with the Editor either by e-mail or post,
indicating which issues you wish to purchase and advising where you are located.
Complete back sets are available, as are partial sets for those wishing to complete a collection of past issues. An attractive discount is
offered. For example, a set of issues 1 through 76 costs $540 (US addresses) and $635 (Rest of the World - mailed via air-delivered
M-BAG). Advise the Editor of your needs and your location for a price quotation.
ADVANCE PAYMENT IS REQUIRED. Payment is to be in a US dollar check or money order (no Canadian checks or foreign
currency, please). Make the check payable to WASHINGTON MAP SOCIETY. For those paying be cheque from overseas, your
cheque is to be drawn in US Dollars with a bank that has a US banking affiliate indicated on the cheque. Additionally, the amount due
to the Washington Map Society is to be NET OF ALL BANK CHARGES, please.
International Orders: Orders for delivery outside the USA may be placed via

1. If ordering a single issue, determine the price from the chart above. Proceed to Pay Pal instructions at this website. In the PayPal
process, step 8, list "Portolan Order" and your last name; at step 9, under "Note:" enter your name, address, telephone number, email
address, and the issue number that you are ordering. This allows us to account correctly for your money transfer.
2. If ordering more than one issue, first coordinate with the Editor to determine the exact price before using this method. In the e-mail
or letter to the Editor state that you wish to pay using PayPal, include the issue numbers you are ordering and the address to which the
order is to be sent. Once the Editor confirms the order price, proceed to Pay Pal instructions at this website. In the PayPal process,
step 8, list "Portolan Order" and your last name; at step 9, under "Note:" enter your name, address, telephone number, email address,
and the quantity and exact issue numbers you are requesting. This allows us to account correctly for your money transfer.
