Abbey's pups born November 7, 2008
Nutmeg Miniatures is proud to announce the arrival of Abbey and Gizmo's puppies around November 7, 2008 and will be ready to go to their new homes January 7, 2009.

Gizmo is Optigen-A - Clear from prcd PRA and Progressive Renial Atrophy; as well as CERF "Good". Nutmeg Poodle adults are tested for
prcd PRA, Progressive Renial Atrophy, Glaucoma and Cataracts.  As a result, our puppies are guaranteed to be free from these genetic diseases which cause blindness.

Our puppies are raised in our home as part of our family;  have been handled since birth and are happy, healthy and playful.  Poodles have very different grooming needs from other dogs; having hair as opposed to fur.  We begin the familiarization process for grooming as soon as they are born, by clipping their nails and using a soft slicker brush.  As soon as they are about 4 weeks old, our puppies are brushed daily, have their nails clipped, shaving of feet, face and tail-bone and bathed weekly.  We also begin collar/leash training, which we believe is a necessary part of training for your pet's basic safety.

Weather permitting, we take the puppies outdoors to acquaint them with the beginning of house-breaking, even though they are a little young to understand what is being asked of them.

Nutmeg Miniature Poodles reserves the right to sell puppies only to approved homes.  We also screen our prospective homes very carefully and talk with prospective puppy buyers many times before a choice is made that's right for a puppy and their new family.  To ensure that our puppies and their new owners have a long and happy life together, it's critical for us to match each puppy's personality and temperament to their new family's life-style.  How does your new puppy fit in and are you compatible?

All puppies are sold on a spay/neuter agreement with a limited registration.  Nutmeg Miniatures does not sell show or breeding quality puppies, except under special agreement.  Upon the live birth of the puppies, we require a minimal $200.00 non-refundable deposit to hold a puppy for you.  In the event of the death of the puppy, your deposit will be refunded.

Puppies are microchipped, wormed and have their first set of shots before they leave for their new homes.  Puppy  vaccinations are given based upon Dr. W. Jean Dodds, DVM current 2007 canine vaccine protocol.  http://www.itsfortheanimals.com/DODDS-CHG-VACC-PROTOCOLS.HTM
