Kimball has been a veteran of karting for the past twenty years and is
recognized as one of the most successful personalities in the karting business.
He has raced from New York to California; quickly gaining national exposure
with wins in 125 shifters, single and dual engined enduros, and sit-up
enduros, Formula A/super 100 euro class, as well as many 2cycle and 4cycle
sprint classes. Most recently Kimball has raced karts in Italy and here
in the United States.
In 1987 and 1989 he landed a full sponsorship for an invitational racing
tour in New Zealand and Australia. He was a member of the United States
Karting Team. Kimball has also made inroads into auto racing. He purchased
a Dodge Shelby Pro CAN-AM car to compete in that series. He raced in the
American Cities Race League (ACRL) for the city of Spokane on the team
called Screaming Eagles, as a teammate to actor/racer Craig T. Nelson.
Kimball has also competed in open wheel cars in the Barber Saab Pro Series,
Bridgestone/Horizon Motorsports Driver Search and the Elf-Winfield school
in France. At the Winfield school Kimball placed 6th overall out of 380
students from Europe and the United States.
Recently, 1998 IKF Formula "C" Duffy winner Kimball Williams has joined
forces with SSC/CRG of Palm Springs, California. Kimball has been appointed
SSC's Gearshifter Team manager. He has campaigned a SSC/CRG Heron 125 Shifter
in the Shifter Karts USA (SKUSA) Pro Series and World Karting Association
(WKA) Constructors Championship under the SSC banner.
Kimball has been featured in several publications. Most recently, the April
1999 issue of Kart Racer magazine. He has also been featured in "The Wheel",
"Karter News", "Go Racing" magazine, "The Los Angeles Times"," Car and
Driver" magazine and others.
Look for Kimball under the SSC/CRG tent at the next race. |
