Birthday and Blog Break

This is my birthday week, the week I turn 35. I have a work-related meeting in San Francisco on my birthday, which isn't so bad. The meeting will only take an hour, so I think I'll use the rest of the day for a mixture of retail play (some $ left over on a gift card) and reflection on the day/year/life.

The gap between the last post and the post before that signals to me a need for a little break from blogging (or thinking about the need to post when not actually posting). Maybe a couple of weeks or so. Same for the entries on the MAS blog. How does a return date of October 1 sound? Meanwhile we get ready for fall, for finding our next spiritual home, for designing the next "life curriculum", for the next stage of the adventure, etc.

Oh, yeah, I almost forgot

Yeah, it's been a while. Non-virtual life took over, nothing major to report. We got to watch Michael with his cousin (6 months younger) during a visit w/ brother and sister-in-law. Toddlers hashing it out--crazy and exhausting. Work life continues to be a challenge in terms of carving space to maneuver, moving projects forward, assessing the political terrain. Spiritual life update: we may have found a new church, sounds pretty good (and seems pretty sound) after two services. This new believer is needing the discipline that a community offers, especially in daily life practice: listening, waiting, relying on God's timing, etc.
