September 15, 2004 was my 35th birthday. The day before, I
learned that a meeting I had was cancelled, so I thought about what to do with my day off from work. Shopping?
Lunch? Sounds okay. Then it hit me and I knew what I was going to do. I made a few phone calls, and thankfully
Pastor Steve returned my call. When I told him my plans he said "That's awesome!", and was up for it. He
was also scheduled to kayak with a friend the next afternoon, so the American River was the spot. At 3:30 the next day,
we met at Warehouse Ministries and then headed to the river.
Here is a first pass at photos. I hope to upload finer resolution versions, and perhaps
some close-ups.
