"Expect the worst And that's what You'll get Only it will be Much worse."

This is the first book of a trilogy, the second book being Are You Listening Rabbi Löw, and the third a completed but unpublished volume, title not known at this time. Donleavy claims that he cannot find a publisher for the third book in the series, citing among the reasons given, concern about possible feminist backlash for some of its content. A bit of trivia: Schultz is the only one-word-titled book by Donleavy (there is a lengthy subtitle following the main title for Leila). |

First Dell mass market printing. A blurb on the back cover mentions this title being the main selection of the Playboy Book Club, but it's not clear if there was a separate book club edition issued or if this edition was also distributed by the club. Details are being researched.
