Donleavy has mentioned in several interviews the desire to write a fourth book in the series.
One source states that he is indeed working on the book, title yet unknown.
According to a Celtic woman of the same name, Leila is pronounced (Lee-eye-lah) and not
(Lay-lah) as in the Eric Clapton song.
